European Heroine at ITTF World Cadet Challenge Heads Junior Girls’ List in Italy

An ITTF Premium Junior Circuit tournament, staged in Lignano Sabbiadoro, play commences on Wednesday 4th March and concludes on Sunday 8th March.
Currently listed at no.27 on the Under 18 Girls’ World Rankings, Lisa Lung, now 16 years old, did enjoy success in 2014 in the cadet age group… (Article By Ian Marshall, ITTF Publications Editor)
Czech Republic and Barbados
Notably she won the Cadet Girls’ Singles title at the Czech Junior and Cadet Open, whilst later in the year being a member of the European Team at the ITTF Cadet Challenge in the Caribbean island of Barbados.
It was to prove a tournament in which she excelled. She played a major role in the old continent’s success in the Girls’ Team events.
After losing to Mima Ito in the second match in the final, she recovered to beat Lee Ka Yee in the vital fifth and deciding match of the fixture to secure the top step of the medal podium her team.
Later in the Girls’ Singles event, she was to reach the quarter-final stage, losing to Lee Ka Yee; a round which Daria Trigolos of Belarus also reached. Similar to Lisa Lung she appears on the entry list for the 2015 Italian Junior and Cadet Open.
The quarter-final defeats in Barbados meant the two Europeans progressed to compete for fifth to eighth places; in fact they competed in fifth and sixth positions, with Lisa Lung gaining the verdict in a close full distance five games encounter…
